Foreign Service Bloggers UNITE!

In case you didn’t know it, there are a massive amount of Foreign Service Bloggers out there – 377, to be exact!  I didn’t know about the community at first, but not to worry, they found me!  What I’ve enjoyed about this group of men and women is that they’re very connected, very supportive and OH-SO-VERY FUN!

Take “Something Edited This Way Comes” for example, who is currently hosting a Best Disguised Foreign Service Couch Contest.

Or the lovely “Diplopundit” who meticulously manages a comprehensive list of all active Foreign Service Bloggers.  You may follow the list of 377 blogs by pulling her feed into your google reader HERE.

And then there’s “Cyberbones” who’s hosting this week’s ROUND-UP.  FYI, a round-up is something that was invented to highlight many of the different topics FS Bloggers were writing about and compile them into a weekly listing, with hyper-links.  That way, if you can’t track all 377 blogs, you can get a high-level view by reading the Round-up!

Last but not least, this list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning “A Daring Adventure“, who is the glue that really keeps this blogging community together.  She pioneered the round-up idea AND has now created a FOREIGN SERVICE BLOGGER MAP where you can find others who are currently at (or who have been at) the place you’re being posted too.  Sheer brilliance, I tell you!  If someone’s writing about a place, let’s make sure that others who need that info are finding it…

If you’re a Foreign Service Blogger (note: you or your spouse must be in A-100 or the equivalent to be listed, for simplicity’s sake of managing the list) and want to get connected to this community, just drop a line to “A Daring Adventure” and she’ll get you hooked into the fun (and probably hosting Round-up!).

I can’t tell you how much I have appreciated this blogging community over the last few years. Sometimes I forget that I’ve never met half of them in person!  :)

  1. Oh my gosh, Sarah, thank you so much for the incredibly kind shout-out!

I also wanted to tell you that I’ve added pins for you for both Manila and Lima – so if you wouldn’t mind, please, when you get a chance, make sure the information on them is correct!

Thanks again for the very kind words – I’m so flattered!

My pleasure – you most definitely deserve it! :)
