The Sound of Music Cast Reunites!

Seriously, this is too good not to share.  In case you missed it, on Thursday Oprah reunited the family Von Trapp for the 45th Anniversary of the movie’s release.  I was amazed to learn that they had never all come together for an interview since the movie’s release!  Isn’t that wild?  It was fun seeing what the kids were up to now and seeing how much they’ve changed.

This movie had a profound effect on me as a child, as I know it did for many other people.  It got me dreaming about travel, interested in history and signing up for my first high school musical.  I’m curious to know what kind of impact it had on you as a child?

And just in case you’ve got an upcoming trip to Salzburg, be sure not to miss the Sound of Music Tour… I did it in 2000 and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sarah – thanks for this post – I wanted to watch Oprah that day, but was busy – so your post was very welcome. I’m a huge Sound of Music fan. Hugs.

you’re going to laugh, but I never saw it until I was cast in it. (yikes!) it’s, like, the ONLY musical we didn’t have in the house.

can I make up for it by saying I knew all the words and choreography to ‘my fair lady’ by kindergarten? ;)

Oh, I have no doubt you knew your stuff. It just seems sad that you were deprived of “The Great One”…

I went on the Sound Of Music Tour in 1999 and LOVED it. It is for sure a must see when in Austria.
