The Toughest Place to Be a Bus Driver

I recently came across this BBC series titled The Toughest Place to be a __________.  The premise of the series is to identify the most challenging place in the world to do a specific job (in this case, bus driving) and then send a British citizen over to that location to see how they fare.  Now, mind you, the selected individual does that same job back in London, so it’s merely a look at the change in conditions from country to country.  And that’s where the fun lies…

Honestly, I was giggling uncontrollably as I watched this series.  In this episode Josh, who drives a double-decker bus back in London, is sent to the Philippines to drive a Jeepney and live with another Jeepney driver and his family.  What plays out is quite comical and provides a very in-depth look at life in Manila.  If you have 60 minutes, I highly recommend you sit down and watch this series.  Maybe do it over two lunch breaks, or something like that….
